I think we can all agree- surfing is the best sport out there. Between the wind in your face and the ocean spray on your body, there is nothing not to love. But how is it possible for someone who can’t experience it to love it? Sixty-one percent of Americans do not live near a shoreline. Obviously, surfing on a lake won’t give you anything except for a nice relaxing seat on the board. Most people think they need an ocean to surf, however, they’re wrong. For all of you out there reading this who aren’t within reach of an ocean- DON’T STRESS! There is still hope! Around the country, there are hundreds of artificial wave-makers, such as wavepools and WaveLoch WaveRiders. With these, one can learn to surf without the open ocean. However, many people are unaware of these opportunities. The purpose of the "Surf Project" page is to inform people of locations of man-made surf mechanisms.
